Aaron Gibson, the inventor of The Purcy Chair, named his creation "Purcy" for profoundly personal and cultural reasons.
The name stands for “your own personal chair,” reflecting the chair’s unique design and capabilities, which empower professionals to earn more and provide better service.
It also pays homage to his family name, Purcell—the foundation of his vision and work ethic.
Aaron was born and raised in North London, where the sound of UK Garage first emerged. A lifelong music enthusiast, he lives and breathes sound and is deeply proud of the UK music scene, especially UK Garage, Grime, Jungle, Breakbeat, and Dub.
In this culture, DJs and producers often refer to a personal or standout production as “a Percy”—a term symbolising pride and ownership.
